There are many distinct characteristics that identify one as a successful entrepreneur but there are 5 that stick out to me the most; these are the characteristics that I have seen that are apparent in every successful person I know.
The First is that they all seem to think outside the box. Take Henry Ford for example: he saw all the waste that came from the burning of wood during automobile manufacturing so he found a way to compress the leftovers into briquettes and made Kingsford charcoal briquettes. He thought outside the box and made money out of a waste product. The ability to make things work better and tweak them when others don’t is the first characteristic that comes to mind.
The Second entrepreneurial characteristic is that all of these people are self-driven. They don’t sulk in their failures or stop when they get a little success. These men and women are self-motivated to create more and more success, to obtain new heights, and to make things work easier and more effectively!
The Third trait that I can see that ties in with all others and may be the most important of all is consistency! The ability to be consistent in following a daily ritual of actions that are creating success even when the immediate results cannot be seen is crucial to becoming a successful entrepreneur. When others get discouraged, or stop to take a break, the successful will still do their calls and marketing or whatever builds their business.
The Fourth characteristic is to be engulfed in Personal Development. These people are always striving to master their abilities and make themselves better in all aspects of life. People will not follow you or respect you until you learn to become a master of yourself. These successful individuals are also always surrounding themselves with other leaders and taking on the actions that make them better. Entrepreneurs engulf themselves in training and education to further their skills!
The Fifth and final characteristic of an entrepreneur is to succeed against all odds. All great men and women have pressed through their adversities and come out on the other side much stronger and more effective. They accept their failures as powerful learning experiences and use them to become better; they become a source of power to drive them to higher heights. A successful entrepreneur will always figure out a way to succeed where others would give up and fail!
